The thin (18-inch) clay-loam topsoil and cold windy weather of Twisty Ridge produce our "big red wine." Ronn Wiegand: "Wonderful Twisty Ridge bottling (⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕). It has a velvety texture, a full body, and is beautifully balanced, with a long palate evolution and a long, harmonious finish, tasting of cherry, plum, blueberry, rose petal, vanilla, and spicy oak. Outstanding quality."
A few descriptors from Mike Lynch: "Fresh, granite, slate, big, dense, powerful, tannic, rich."
Wild and woody aromas of damp pine forest and musty mushrooms complement the dark fruit and cocoa touches on the nose of this bottling. It's rich and impressive on the palate, offering wood, herb, black pepper and more mushroom flavors.
